Heather Mitchell Usability Testing Website

Six Recommendations

  1. My first recommendation would be to make the categories options more user friendly. Once the user clicks on the major category that they want to search under, there are many different more specific options that come up that take a while to read through. It may be helpful to narrow down the options a little and then expand more on the options from there.
  2. I would recommend updating the store location finder that is on the top of the home page. I would include either an option to increase the distance radius or a link to the location finder.
  3. I would recommend making the filtering menus stand out more by either using a different color scheme or making them more prominent on the page. I think that could really aid users in trying to find what they are looking for.
  4. I would update the filters to show accurate information. At one point in a usability test, the $100 to $250 filter was set, but the first item that came up was about $80, not in the range searched for.
  5. I would update the logo button in the Kohl's Help section to go back to the Kohl's site home page instead of the Help page.
  6. I would make the distinctions between what the Kohl's Card and Kohl's Cash are each for and what the benefits of each of them are.
